Thermoplastic Hose Changes

Change Effective Date: December 1, 2023

Product Details: Supply chain of 7N, 7R, 8R and 7P Hoses

Change 1: Replacement 7N and 7R Hoses

• Current Swagelok’s supplier has discontinued its production of thermoplastic hose series 7N and 7R. Consequently, Swagelok needs to identify a new source for replacement.
• The bulk hoses provided by new supplier is for crimping but NOT for swaging.
• The bulk hoses provided by new supplier will meet all existing performance parameters, such as burst, temperature rating, and bend radius, and have the same lay line marking. However, the hose does have a dull finish as compared to the existing glossy cover which can be seen in the below image.

• The bulk hoses provided by new supplier will be sold with different ordering numbers to distinguish
  between the current and new supply
• The factory‐made assemblies will convert to the new hose supply in Q4 of 2023. The hose assemblies will not have an ordering number change on the assembly level
• This supply change does not impact to 8R, 7P, and NG thermoplastic hose series.

Change 2: Discontinued Hoses of ¾” and 1” 8R and 7P series

The supply of ¾” and 1” thermoplastic hoses in the 8R and 7P series has been discontinued and there are no suitable replacements for these products with Swagelok end connections. Consequently 7P12, 7P16, 8R12, and 8R16 hoses will be removed from the standard Swagelok product offering once inventory is depleted. Thermoplastic end connections in those sizes will also be discontinued as a result.

Available Options:

• Existing 7N and 7R bulk hose part numbers can still be sold to customers for swaging and will have to be discontinued once the current hose inventory is exhausted.
• The 7P12, 7P16, 8R12, and 8R16 hoses, along with thermoplastic end connections in those sizes, can still be sold to customers once the inventory is depleted.
